Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the science of understanding and improving behavior. It helps people learn important skills, track progress, and make sure they can use those skills consistently at home, at school, and in everyday life.
ABA therapy uses these same principles to support autistic children. It focuses on reducing challenging behaviors and teaching new skills in a positive, supportive way that encourages learning and growth.
Reducing challenging behaviors means identifying why a behavior is happening and teaching alternative skills—such as self-advocating, tolerating difficult situations, cooperating with others, and developing resilience.
Skill building is guided by your child’s developmental level, an understanding of how skills may present in neurodivergent learners, and the priorities of your family.
At GrowJoy ABA, we prioritize play-based, age-appropriate, and developmentally appropriate strategies while drawing from a wide range of evidence-based ABA techniques. Sessions take place in your home and community to keep learning natural, engaging, and meaningful. Every treatment plan is individualized to your child’s strengths and needs, and aligned with your family’s goals.
